New Continent. New Country. NEW FRIENDS! Cambodia.
friendships in the works! i’ve got some incredible friends yet to meet…
so, you’ve probably noticed, making friends during my travels is extremely important to me and very meaningful. people ARE what make the world go round! so, i’m beyond thrilled to be a part of team of 100% Australians (besides me) because i’m going to me making a heap of new friends during my Habitat Β for Humanity build.
thank goodness for technology. i’ve been Facebook messaging with two gals from my build now for a couple of months. i’m already sure we will get along famously. we have BIG plans to whoop it up in Siem Reap together – among other things. all i can say is the world is such a small place and i’m super excited to meet more of its amazing inhabitants who also want to do something good and explore a new space in the world. i’m a happy girl.
meet my two new friends: the M&M’s
look at these work gloves that Malinda got for the 3 of us! can you believe they make lola-pink work gloves? FABULOUS!!
AND my friend & lovely team leader Mitch!
post-build i’ll have loads of photos to share of me with all my new buddies from the land down under!
i also want to take this opportunity to thank all of my current wonderful friends & family in my life. i am so blessed to have many great friendships. in particular, i want to thank my friends for their generosity in this endeavor of mine. i could have fronted this project on my own but it means so much more to me knowing you also recognize and support Habitat for Humanity, Cambodia and me in this adventure. i hope someday that many of us can do a build like this somewhere in the world together. i’ll be sure to give you the down-low upon my return!
XO – lolaΒ
Yay for Lola and new friends. Because when you make new friends, I have new friends. We’re a package deal, right? π

we are most definitely a package deal! you will adore the new friends i make for us π i cannot wait!!!
Self confessed? ok maybe, but I think it is mostly from what others have said (wrongly or rightly). I am very excited to meet you finally, after over a year of Twitter chat and other types of communication. I am also very proud of my whole team for their amazing efforts and support of this adventure.
Let the FUN begin….
Mitch
i’m SO excited to meet you too as well as the whole team. i know we will all be proud of what we accomplish together. friendship is an even sweeter reward! i’m with you Mitch…LET THE FUN BEGIN!
see you in less than 2 weeks now π xo – lola
Have a great time – what a great adventure. What a great thing you are doing. I am sure your pink gloves will have quite the workout! I am sure you will put a great stamp (er, I mean, Boa) on the experience! Have fun.

thanks Anita! i so appreciate your support π i cannot wait to give the pink gloves a good workout and to #lolafy Cambodia with my pink boa. i’m actually bringing 2 because my Aussie roomie, that bought the pink gloves, also loves pink (maybe more that me) poor Cambodia may never be the same π
All’s I know is Mitch hasn’t met Lola and the boa, yet. Godspeed, Mitch! Lola, you will have a blast – it looks like a great group of people and they will have a blast with the awesome Lola – wish I could have gone too! Can’t wait to hear/read all about it.

Sounds like it’s going to be a fun team…will you manage to get any work done?

i’m sure we’ll manage getting work done. i can tell from all our communication that we are a “work hard, play harder” group. i’ll have photo evidence of our work to prove we didn’t just play π
so excited to follow along on this whole adventure. a volunteer-focused trip is definitely on our short list, so we really can’t wait to hear about your experience. hope all these m’s are ready for you!

i think the M’s are ready for me. i’ve not held back with them so they’ve been fairly warned π
one of my goals is to possibly put together a build of my own – on this side of the globe – perhaps near the equator in the wintertime of North America. have i twisted your arms enough to say YES yet?!
I hope you’ll pick up some Australian slang and teach us later! π Accent included. Love the gloves! π

surely i will pick up some good slang words. AND it would be good to master that accent. π i’ve got my tasks from you, Pola, so will do my best!!
I am so proud of you for doing this big trip. Just demonstrates how good a person you are. And surely you will make some amazing friends! Hope you have an amazing time!!
